Our research group does basic and applied research in plant ecology.

We are broadly interested in understanding the mechanisms behind vegetation transformations induced by land-use changes in Transylvanian grasslands. In this respect we focus especially on the effects of litter accumulation, burning, shrub encroachment and invasion of non-native species on grassland dynamics. We perform experimental studies in climate chambers, common garden and field. Our lab offers a wide range of topics for undergraduate (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) students.

Our research team recently ended a research project funded by Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation, CNCS – UEFISCDI (PN-III-P1-1.1-TE-2019_0414). Please check out our objectives and results HERE!
